PIGNATA
Perhaps one of the oldest kitchen utensils in the area.
It has always been made with RED CLAY which is rich in iron and manages to maintain high temperatures.
Cooking food inside the pignata has always taken place near the fire in the fireplace but over time a wide base has been created to allow those who don't have a fireplace at home to also use it on the kitchen.
In ancient times it was used above all for cooking legumes but the use can be multiple (cooking meat broths, vegetable broths etc...)
Cooking inside this utensil still recalls the authentic flavors of local food today!
The product is worked by the master craftsman MAURIZIO who handcrafts the terracottas in Altomonte (CS). Work passed down from father to son. A very strong passion and determination that still allows the ancient products of our land to live today. The quality and resistance of the product capable of keeping the flavors intact. More than twice as resistant as normal ceramics, made with red clay, rich in iron to maintain high temperatures. Excellent for cooking both on the kitchen and at the fireplace. Enamelled with lead-free product.
